1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Food Maps ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

Program Name: Food Maps Food Distribution Platform

Program Description: Food Maps connects food donors and recipients. The service includes matching, route planning, and delivery coordination to reduce food waste and improve food access.

Our services include:

  • Food donation and distribution coordination
  • Route optimization and volunteer management
  • Real-time tracking and communication tools
  • SMS notifications for pickups, deliveries, and service updates
  • Impact analytics and reporting

3. SMS Messaging Program Terms

SMS Program Overview

Program Name: Food Maps SMS Notifications

Program Description: When you opt-in to our SMS notification service, you agree to receive text messages related to food pickups, deliveries, service updates, and important account notifications.

Message Types and Frequency

By opting into SMS notifications, you consent to receive the following types of messages:

  • Pickup Reminders: Notifications about upcoming food collection appointments
  • Delivery Updates: Real-time updates about food delivery status and routes
  • Service Announcements: Important platform updates and service changes
  • Safety Alerts: Time-sensitive communications regarding food safety or service issues

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your activity level. You may receive:

  • 1-3 messages per scheduled pickup or delivery
  • Occasional service announcements (typically less than 5 per month)
  • Urgent notifications as needed for time-sensitive matters

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard text messaging rates from your mobile carrier will apply to all SMS messages sent and received. Food Maps does not charge for messages, but your carrier's rates will apply.

Opt-Out Instructions

You can opt-out of SMS notifications at any time using the following methods:

  • Text STOP: Reply with STOP to any message to immediately unsubscribe from all SMS notifications
  • Account Settings: Update your notification preferences in your Food Maps account settings
  • Contact Support: Email us at info@allgoodlivingfoundation.org or call (510) 522-6288

After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message, and then you will not receive any further messages unless you re-opt-in.

Important Notices

  • Opting out of SMS notifications will not affect your ability to use Food Maps services
  • You may miss important time-sensitive updates if you opt-out of SMS
  • We will never sell or share your phone number for marketing purposes
  • SMS messages are for informational purposes related to Food Maps services only

4. User Accounts and Registration

To use certain features of our service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

5. User Conduct and Responsibilities

Food donors and volunteers acknowledge that:

  • All food donations must meet local health and safety standards
  • Expired or unsafe food should never be donated
  • Proper food handling and storage procedures must be followed
  • Recipients accept food donations at their own discretion

Food Maps is not responsible for the quality, safety, or suitability of donated food items.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Food Maps and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
  • Use our trademarks or logos without authorization
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using our service, you consent to the collection and use of information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason including:

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the service shall be resolved in the courts of Alameda County, California.

The failure of Food Maps to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

19. Force Majeure

Food Maps shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from any cause beyond Food Maps' reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor or materials.

20. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights and obligations under these Terms without Food Maps' prior written consent. Food Maps may assign these Terms at any time without notice.

21. Survival

The provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
